That Twitter campaign is all art direction and no idea.
I love how cool and quirky it is to use an old news medium like press and poster to sell a futuristic medium like twitter. Just great.
There’s an idea in there… news breaks first on Twitter
I like the idea of Twitter as a breaking news channel and not just a place to tell the world how you felt when you had breakfast.
Have seen the idea a hundred times before, for other news channels – but that doesn’t mean that it’s not an idea Altavista.
And I think that the art direction is what makes this hoary old chestnut of an idea feel fresh(er)
I did not know that “new breaks first on ______ ” is an idea….reads more like an observation to me.
….when people in our industry don’t seem to know what an advertising idea is.
