Valerie Cheng named CCA Chairman
The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Singapore (4As) has named Valerie Cheng, Executive Creative Director of Publicis Modem, as the Chairman of the Creative Circle Awards (CCA) 2010.
With over 14 years’ experience in digital, CRM and integrated creative solutions, Cheng has worked across global, regional and local accounts. She now leads Publicis Modem to provide a fully integrated core offering across both the Publicis and Modem portfolio of clients and is also a member of the 4As Creative Advisory Panel (CAP).
Cheng is a rare gem in an industry largely dominated by men in the creative department. Her appointment as CCA Chairman celebrates a first on many fronts – a woman chairperson since its inauguration three decades ago and the choice of a digital advertising creative marks a fresh change in the selection of the chairman which typically comes from traditional advertising space.
This year the CCA award show will be held on 2 September 2010. It opens for entries on 20 May 2010 and the entry deadline is 18 June 2010.

The face most ang-mo would love. 🙂 Congrats.
Great appointment CCA. Well done Valerie.
The 4As couldn’t have found a better candidate to helm the show and reflect the changing tapestry of today’s advertising, where digital and integrated creative solutions are key. Well done 4As.
Beauty with brains. Wow!
Change has appeared in the White House, so it’s good to see a much-needed change at the helm of the CCA. It’s time for someone with good digital and integrated solution credentials. Good luck Valerie.
CCA’s first female chairperson. Go girl!
Good choice.
Always thought that Linda Locke had been a chairperson at CCA. Well, obviously not. Congrats!
Well deserved Valerie. I’m sure you will do an excellent job this year!
So….any anti-scam rules in place Val? Any penalties?
Ben and Jerry is going to be Best of show. Gold in One show already.
6.19 will have to cautiously disagree there….a print campaign as best of show…those days are gone…..especially with a interactive person as chaiman of CCA.
It will be the Sunsilk Star idea that will win Best of Show…despite the horrible song lyrics.
Re: Sunsilk….you have got to love the fact that theyve made sure its eligible for awards both in Singapore and Philippines by putting representatives from both countries creative teams on the credits…even though they claim that the work was completely created in Singapore.
Congratulations ! you are the best to tell who is the best.
She looks cool n she deserves it.
