Leo Burnett Bangkok shows shopaholics a simple way to save money using ME by TMB
Today, we live life in the middle of a shopping temptation jungle. Lots of shopping malls’ both offline and online, marketing tricks make it hard for all of us to keep our money in our pockets, especially when smartphones make it much easier to spend.
ME by TMB Digital Bank used this insight to trigger audiences to try its new product, ME MOVE, a new digital bank account that was designed to help users spend and save with ease at the same time. It comes with a balance sweep feature that lets users sweep money from ME MOVE, a spending account to ME SAVE, a savings account with a higher interest rate at any time. Hence users can earn more interest while doing nothing with their money.
The film, created by Leo Burnett Bangkok, uses a freeze time film technique inspired from shopping mall display windows to tell the story of a shopaholic couple.
The story compares a trip to a shopping mall with a safari trip to a jungle of temptations with lots of wild animals that are looking to attack this couple’s bank accounts. A product, ME MOVE, later comes in as a hero to help them survive this jungle with lots of their money still left in their account. A sad but true spending habit now has its solution.
