James Wong promoted to head of strategy for PHD Hong Kong to drive clients' businesses

James Wong, Head of Strategy at PHD Hong Kong.jpgPHD Hong Kong has promoted James Wong to Head of Strategy. In his new role, Wong will now be tasked with further elevating the agency's strategic product offering for its clients. His remit has also been expanded to provide strategic planning support to the Unilever team in PHD Taiwan, ensuring seamless cross-border learnings and best practices within the network.

Ever since joining PHD Hong Kong in early 2017, Wong (pictured left) has made a significant contribution to the agency's award-winning work, with the last year being the most successful to date for the agency at local and international awards shows. This has resulted in PHD being one of only two agencies in Hong Kong to be listed in the 2018 Gun Media 100. He has also advanced the agency's agenda on marketing technology, having secured partnerships with local tech start-ups, such as Well Being Digital 101, creators of state-of-the-art sensors for wearables; ORII, the world's first voice-powered smart ring; and chatbot developers, Rocketbot. A frequent contributor to the agency's ongoing thought leadership, Wong recently authored the first of PHD's flipbook series, The Voice of Conversation.
Clement Chung, Managing Director of PHD Hong Kong, commented, "James is an integral member of the PHD Management Team, bringing strategy and innovation to every client brief. He is committed to driving our clients' businesses forward, and is extremely passionate about the further development of the wider agency network. I have every confidence that his star will continue to rise within PHD."

"The past 18 months have been an exciting journey for me, and I am excited to now take on an expanded role and work closely with our network on amplifying our best practices and the challenger mindset of 'finding a better way' for our clients. I look forward to working further with the teams on taking our clients' communications to the next level through strategy and innovation, while also ensuring they remain at the forefront of all the latest technological developments," added Wong.

The promotion is effective immediately.
