Mun to leave BBDO Proximity Malaysia

Mun.jpgBBDO Proximity Malaysia's Executive Creative Director Mun Tuck Wai has resigned after only seven months in the job. Mun is one of Malaysia's most awarded creatives and he replaced Ronald Ng in the top job at BBDO Proximity Malaysia in September last year.

Mun is best known for the highly awarded Jeep "Two Worlds" print campaign. His future plans are not known.

UPDATE (May 5th): BBDO/Proximity Malaysia has released a statement following the breaking of the news that ECD Mun Tuck Wai was leaving the agency. BBDO/Proximity Malaysia's Group Chief Executive Jennifer Chan said Mun expressed interest in relocating to an overseas agency within the BBDO network and the agency announced Mun's intention to its clients and staff members in the end of April.
She said Mun expressed his aspirations to further his career overseas late last year, but his transfer is not expected to take place for some time. The agency is still looking for prospective options that match Mun's aspirations as well his prospective agency's vision and needs.

"We are taking Mun's request seriously when he said he wanted overseas experience. We believe in advancing our talents' best interest and we're still looking for the best possible options for Mun," said Chan.

Given his recent record it would seem probable that he has said yes to one of the many approaches he would have received. Probably outside of Malaysia like Ronald and Adrian Miller. Malaysian creatives are hot right now.
