Ogilvy PR SABRE.jpgOgilvy Public Relations took home an impressive sweep of awards from last week’s Asia Pacific SABRE Awards, including 4 Gold, 1 Diamond, 1 IN2SABREW and 1 Platinum. The agency’s Greater China office were also crowned Greater China Consultancy of the Year.

The SABRE Awards, which took place at the JW Marriott in Hong Kong on September 14, recognises and celebrates the region’s best campaigns in public relations.

It was Ogilvy Sri Lanka that stole the show, winning their first ever Gold and Platinum SABRE in the Charities category for Transparency International. The campaign titled “Uncovering the Truth” was to educate Sri Lankans on how to use their new right of access to information, following the Freedom of Information Act which was passed by the Sri Lankan Government for the first time this year. Sri Lanka is the last Asian country to pass such an act, and the client, Transparency International Sri Lanka, wanted to educate citizens to use their hard won right to information for good.

“The little office that could, DID!” said Marion McDonald, Chief Strategy Officer, Ogilvy Public Relations, “Ogilvy PR Sri Lanka is led by the dynamic Manilka Philips, supported by GM Althaf Jalaldeen, and an amazing entrepreneurial team. They were celebrating well into the morning over their first ever Gold SABRE and Platinum SABRE.”

Other Ogilvy campaigns to receive metal on the night include:

Best Podcast/Webcast for Audi by Ogilvy Beijing

Best Retail for Family Mart by Ogilvy Taiwan

Best Regional Campaign for UPS by Ogilvy Singapore

Best in AU/NZ + Best in Brand Building for Outthink Melanoma by Ogilvy Australia, Text100 and George P. Johnson.

Commenting on the team’s success Scott Kronick, President and CEO of Ogilvy Public Relations Asia Pacific said, “It has been another brilliant year for us thanks to the creativity and hard work of our teams in Asia Pacific. As long as our teams continue to demonstrate their world-class ability to drive real business outcomes for our clients, we will always have occasion to celebrate. Last night was one of those occasions and I’m extremely proud of our group today.”
