44 entries make the cut following the first release of Clio Award Shortlists: McCann Mumbai, TBWA\ Hakuhodo Tokyo + CJ Worx Bangkok lead way

The Immunity Charm.jpgThe Clio Awards, the esteemed international awards competition for the creative business, has announced the first shortlist for 2017 across Film, Print, Print Technique, Out of Home, Direct, Events/Experiential, Branded Entertainment, Branded Content, Digital/Mobile, Social Media,   Digital/Mobile Technique, Innovation, Integrated Campaign, Brand Partnerships + Collaborations and Student. Asia has netted a total of 44 finalists in the first shortlist announcement.

Leading the Asian agency pack are McCann Worldgroup Mumbai with 6 shortlists, TBWA\HAKUHODO Tokyo with 5, CJ WORX Bangkok with 4 and TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno Manila, TBWA Thailand, Hakuhodo Tokyo and Dentsu Tokyo all have 3 finalists each.

Japanese agencies have 14 shortlists followed by Thailand and India with 11 and 6 shortlists respectively. The Philippines scored 4 shortlists, then Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, and China with 2 each. Pakistan has 1. Surprisingly, Singapore failed to record a single shortlist. Malaysia and Indonesia also failed to make the cut.
