Lyric Speaker.jpgSix Inc. Japan has developed Lyric speaker, a product intended to integrate digital technology and music and realize the music listening experience of the future. A concept model was unveiled at The Big Parade, Japan’s first new-style music festival for the digital age.

Lyric speaker is a Bluetooth speaker that reproduces music played on a mobile phone. While a song plays, the lyrics appear in appealing typography on a transparent monitor, creating words that can be enjoyed as interior decorations.

Lyric Speaker 2.jpgWith the popularization of digital distribution of music, everyone can now enjoy music with ease. But there are now fewer opportunities to really enjoy lyrics, as lyric sheets are seldom provided with digitally distributed music, among other reasons. However, music fans’ enthusiasm for lyrics is as strong as ever. This is borne out, for instance, by the popularity abroad of lyric videos. As the name suggests, these videos feature music and lyrics together. Until recently, lyric videos have tended to be made by music fans themselves, but in the last year or two, it has become more common for official lyric videos to be made available on video sharing sites.

Lyric speaker was developed by Six Inc, a Hakuhodo Group company, and aircord, The Guild, SyncPower, takcom and Hakuhodo Product’s, which have strengths in digital technology in the creative scene.
