Chiew and Liyu move up at JWT Singapore

MZCC_sml.jpgClarence Chiew and Minzie Liyu have been promoted and will be leading creative teams. Chiew steps up from Creative Group Head to  Associate Creative Director while Liyu assumes the Creative Group Head role.

“Clarence and Minzie make a great team and with Thomas Yang leaving, it made sense to promote them at the same time,” said Ali Shabaz, JWT Singapore Executive Creative Director. “They have already picked up a slew of awards and bagged some great new clients so we expect amazing things from them in the future.”

Chiew has been working at JWT Singapore for almost four years. Beforejoining JWT, he cut his teeth at 10AM Communications and Crush. Alongthe way, he has been involved with global and regional work for HSBC,Shell, Unilever, Sony Ericsson and Sony. And, he has amassed acollection of statues which includes three Gold Lions at Cannes, Goldand Silver pencils at One Show, along with a range of Effies, Spikes,Clios, and D&AD awards. Liyu joined JWT Singapore in June 2007 andmost recently held the role of Art Director. In a career spanningSingapore and Japan, he worked at agencies such as Ogilvy, Bates,Batey’s and Ace:Daytons. He has worked with international brands likeHeineken, Nokia, Dove, Ponds, Citibank, Audi, Bayer, Silkair &Pizza Hut on both global, regional and local campaigns. His range ofawards includes the One Show, Adfest, Spikes, Effies and CommunicationArts.

Both worked on the recent Spikes Media Grand Prix-winning work forSilkAir, and an anti-glue sniffing integrated campaign for NCADA whichpicked up a Silver at this year’s Effies. They were also the leadcreative team for JWT Singapore’s recent EDB win, and last year’s PizzaHut coup. Their proudest work so far? Convincing Bayer why it wasnecessary to dress up a bunch of kids in animal heads to entertainoffice workers in the CBD.
