Masaya Nakamura named deputy chairman and chief growth officer for DAN’s regional business

Masaya Nakamura.jpgDentsu Aegis Network has promoted Masaya Nakamura to Deputy Chairman and Chief Growth Officer for Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific, as Takaki Hibino officially steps into the role of Executive Chairman today.

Nakamura (pictured) will work alongside Hibino to drive sustainable growth, further developing Dentsu Aegis Network’s client centric model and looking for new opportunities for the business beyond advertising.

Nakamura’s experience spans over 29 years at Dentsu Inc., during this time he held various senior roles working with major global clients such as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Bridgestone, providing them with account management and planning services. His experience in localizing global brands and making international ideas relevant in a local setting has allowed him to work seamlessly between people and cultures, to create relevant brand communications.

In 2018 he was appointed Executive Officer of Dentsu Inc. and moved to Singapore to become Global and Asia Pacific Executive Client President for Dentsu Aegis Network.

Hibino said, “Today is my first day in the role of Executive Chairman, and I’m keen to put in place the best team to help me grow the business. We have a unique prosposition both at Dentsu Aegis Network and at Dentsu Inc. and I think it’s important that we combine strengths from both businesses to grow even further. By working more closely together we can all benefit from even more diverse experience from across the entire business.

“Masaya is perfect for this role with combined experience from Dentsu Inc. and Dentsu Aegis Network out of Singapore. Masaya will be a vital component in the development of the business here in Asia Pacific.”

Nakamura said, “I’m excited to take on this new role, and to work closely with Hibino-san to grow the business. There is a great deal of incredible talent, and world class clients that we work with, so I believe we can take the business to the next level in the next few years. Our main focus will be on sustainable, long term growth and we will look at many different and innovative ways to retain that strong and steady growth for the business.”

Nakamura will report to Takaki Hibino and the role will take effect immediately.
