HeeYoun Yang, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Korea.jpgAs Omnicom Media Group continues to expand its footprint in Korea, the Group has strengthened its local-market leadership by promoting HeeYoun Yang to CEO of Omnicom Media Group Korea. Previously the CEO of PHD Korea, Yang (pictured left) will now oversee the growing momentum of both the Group and OMD’s operations in Korea as well, following the extension of client relationships into the market.

The promotion recognises Yang’s comprehensive understanding of Omnicom Media Group’s differentiation in the Korean marketplace and her unique ability to grow the Group’s business through a bespoke industry approach. Under Yang’s leadership, PHD has continued to scale new heights in Korea since its launch in December 2016. In just under two years, the agency has doubled its revenue year on year, adding clients such as HP, Ferrero and SC Johnson to its roster, and quadrupled its headcount to match the pace of its business growth.

Tony Harradine, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific, commented, “Given the nuances of the Korean marketplace and our unique value proposition to clients in that environment, we have faced an increasing number of client requests to extend our relationship into that market. With the recent appointment of the media duties for Marina Bay Sands, Clorox and Hasbro in Korea, our operations are only continuing to grow. In HeeYoun, we have an exceptional leader who understands both the intricacies and opportunities of the Korean marketplace, and navigates them to provide our clients with unparalleled solutions and service. I am confident that our agencies will continue to flourish under her guidance and look forward to even more impressive results coming out of Korea.

Yang added, “Our journey over the past two years has been extremely exciting and rewarding; not just for our people and partners, but for our clients as well. Together, we have grown and evolved our communications approaches, allowing us to develop a cutting-edge solutions that allow our clients to really stand out and shine in the Korean marketplace. I am honoured to take on the challenge of extending this experience and momentum to the rest of the Group’s operations, and look forward to working with our teams on raising the bar further for all of our clients in Korea.
