Screen Shot 2018-11-29 at 6.57.41 am.jpg “The Cube, Part Six” from COLLINS and animation studio CATK, Berlin has launched in support of ADC 98th Annual Awards Call for Entries.

“The Cube” campaign was developed by brand experience design firm COLLINS, with each :30 episode brought to life by one of six talented animation and illustration artists/studios from around the world.

The storyline places the iconic ADC Cube on a journey from adversity to achievement, pushing through challenge after challenge as it seeks to define its place in the universe.

Says Maik Bluhm, co-founder and creative director, CATK: “When Collins approached us to participate in this beautiful, creative Chinese Whispers exercise, we gladly accepted, already anticipating the outcome, mixing various animations into one piece.  We’re super excited to be last in the chain to bring it home.

“Our multidisciplinary work encompasses various creative fields, but even after a decade in the business we never worked on something that played in outer space.  We discussed how we imagine this should be and also work with our narrative.  We tried to incorporate as many space cliches as possible and also have a playful approach to it.

:Who doesn’t know the feeling of wanting to get home and taking the wrong turn on the very last bit of the journey, but through this supposed ‘wrong’ turn discovering the most beautiful scenes of the whole trip.

“An homage to space and Robert Frost’s ‘The Road Not Taken’.

‘Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.’

Previous acts in “The Cube” campaign include:

Part of The One Club for Creativity, the world’s foremost non-profit organization recognizing creative excellence in advertising and design, the ADC 98th Annual Awards celebrates global excellence in craft, design and innovation.  Entries are accepted at http://www.adcawards.org, deadline January 31, 2019.  Juries will be announced shortly.
