StarHub commemorates Racial Harmony and National Day with film via Blk J DDB Singapore

Starhub1.jpgStarhub2.jpgStarHub on Racial Harmony Day presented its latest video in a series of annual National Day campaigns to celebrate unity in diversity in Singapore. The campaign, created by Blk J DDB Singapore, juxtaposes excerpts from Martin Luther King, Jr's "I Have a Dream" speech with monochromatic snippets of people delighting in the bond of racial and religious harmony, StarHub's 1.5-minute video entitled #RegardlessofColour recollects the day-to-day realities which are familiar to Singaporeans.

"The harmony we enjoy today does not come easily," said Mr Howie Lau, Chief Marketing Officer, StarHub. "This year, we want to pay tribute to everyone for working tirelessly to build and safeguard our way of life. This video, graded in black and white, is our way of encouraging all to unite as #OneNationTogether, regardless of race, language or religion."

Madam Suparti Bte Sukari, who was featured in the video and has a daughter-in-law of Chinese descent said, "I feel happy to be featured in a video that celebrates racial harmony because I have always felt fortunate to be born in a place where we can be friends and family, regardless of race, language or religion. I can't wait for my grandchildren to see grandma's video."

Rowena Bhagchandani, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Blk J DDB, StarHub's creative agency said, "The National Day video for StarHub is a love project for us. As a homegrown company, we are humbled to be given an opportunity every year to tell stories that define and celebrate the Singapore spirit. We hope Singapore enjoys it as much as we did making it."

Starhub3.jpgThe #RegardlessofColour video comes after StarHub's viral hits "Majulah Moms" music video featuring 51 Singaporean mothers and "Home by Homes" starring talents from nine voluntary welfare organisations, all to promote togetherness in Singapore.

As part of the celebrations, StarHub will offer customers $52 discounts on their favourite mobile handset models starting tomorrow and free viewing of over 140 StarHub TV channels from 7 August noon to 14 August noon.

The video will be shown on StarHub's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube), StarHub TV channels as well as in Golden Village cinemas.
