See all of Asia’s Grand Prix and Gold Lion winners from the 2017 Cannes Lions Festival

Grand Prix for Good.jpgThe 2017 Cannes Lions saw 3 Grand Prix awards and 23 Gold Lions heading back to homes in Asia. It is a great performance, with India and Singapore particularly doing well.

In total Asia entered 6,102 entries into Cannes this year. Japan and India, Asia’s most successful in terms of metal won with 38 and 40 Lions, entered 1378 and 1227 respectively.

China had the next largest number of entries with 1105. For the second year in a row they again performed poorly when compared to their entries with only 13 Lions. In 2016 China only won 9 Lions from a very optimistic 1022 entries.

This year Thailand submitted 546 entries for their 18 Lions. Singapore performed very well with 32 Lions from only 475 entries (down from 688 last year). Hong Kong took home 8 Lions from 369 entries. South Korea was very disappointing this year with only 1 Lion from 357 entries.

The Philippines landed 3 Lions from their 259 entries. Taiwan entered 106 entries for their 2 Lions. Malaysia heavily cut entries this year from 325 to 100 and for the second year in a row didn’t win any Lions.

Missing out on Lions were Indonesia (77 entries), Vietnam (44 entries), Sri Lanka (24 entries), Pakistan (19 entries), Bangladesh (14 entries), and Cambodia (2 Entries).

Listed below are all of Asia’s Grand Prix winners and Gold Lion winners.

Campaign Brief Asia’s personal top 3 favourite winners are: The hilarious McCann Thai film Verena “Capture” that scored loud applause at the final award show in Cannes; McCann India’s brilliantly simple and worthy “Immunity Charm” which we hope is an extensive program in Afghanistan and one that endures past the next 12 months of award shows; and finally the amazing BBH Singapore Nike “Unlimited Stadium” a genuinely huge scale big idea, that should have picked up a couple more Gold Lions than it did.
