O&M Hong Kong + Eardrum Sydney scoops up top international prize at Mercury Radio Awards

cat-hold.jpgA campaign for ProDiet Cat Food produced by Eardrum for Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong has scooped one of the major awards of the year at the Mercury Radio Awards in New York. The spot won in the International Radio or Audio category and picked up a US$1,500 cash prize.

The campaign, written by Ogilvy’s Richard Sorensen, features a colourful cast including a Russian princess, a Persian convict and a lady boy.

Says Ralph van Dijk, creative director, Eardrum: “We really needed an exotic cast to do these scripts justice. The end result is a very visual campaign with a great twist.”

The other big award of the night, the $50,000 Best of Show went to the Richards Group for its long-standing and hugely successful Motel 6 campaign.
