Edelman Japan hires ex JWT’s Amy Naoko Morita in Director of Brand role

Amy Naoko Morita.jpgEdelman Japan has appointed Amy Naoko Morita as Director of Brand, Edelman Japan, effective immediately.   

 

As Director of Brand, Morita (pictured) will have immediate responsibility for strategically guiding the business assist brands rethink their strategies, helping clients move beyond a conventional approach to brand positioning. Morita will report to Ross Rowbury, President and Representative Director, Japan.

 

“In a developing landscape, building brands and positioning them in the hearts and minds of audiences has shifted in recent years away from communicating through traditional advertising methods to those that must earn the attention of audiences,” said Rowbury.

“We must now put the client at the centre of everything we do. Ask the question, ‘what will benefit our client?’, and find the right solutions for clients and their brands. Amy’s raw passion, experience and drive for brands will be a massive benefit to our clients. In Amy, we have a positive force of change – someone who can break the traditional PR mould and help us, and our clients, on our journey into communications marketing.”

 

With extensive industry experience, Morita was most recently Global & Corporate Marketing Director at J. Walter Thompson Japan. Over her thirteen-year tenure she helped Japanese multinational clients globalize their brands, business, communication and innovation efforts.
