A further change sees Angie Wong (center), currently General Manager, elevated to the role of Managing Director of Leo Burnett Shanghai, reporting to Michael Lee, CEO of Publicis Communications Greater China.

Hao joined Leo Burnett in early 2015 as Head of Creative. As a local creative with over 18 years’ experience, he has participated deeply in China’s advertising industry growth, and has also won many global-level creative awards such as Cannes and the One Show.

As a Hong Kong born Chinese, Lau has worked for many years with Leo Burnett in Hong Kong, Beijing and Guangzhou. This has given him a keen understanding of Leo Burnett’s culture and heritage. During his more than 15 years of experience, Lau has developed both international experience, and strong local China insight, which has helped him build up many successful creative and effective cases for clients.

Wong said, “From this April, we will establish a management committee in Leo Burnett Shanghai, to further flatten our organizational structure, which will help us build a more efficient and solidly-united agency, and to consistently deliver effective and creative integrated communication solutions for our clients”.

Having worked at Leo Burnett for a total of twelve years, Wong is truly a Star-Reacher. She’s been obsessed with advertising even before she graduated from the University of Chicago, so it was not surprising that she decided to start her first job in Leo Burnett Hong Kong in 2002. She returned to Leo Burnett in March 2014 as the General Manager leading the Shanghai office.

Michael Lee said, “We are thrilled to announce these well-deserved promotions. As the flagship office in Greater China, Leo Burnett Shanghai plays an extremely important role in the entire network. Over the past two years, the collective efforts of Angie, Rocky and Takho have raised the creative output and business of Leo Burnett Shanghai to new heights. Their ‘Reach for Stars’ spirit is deeply ingrained in their work, and I believe, together with their team, they will bring even more success to Leo Burnett in the future”.

In 2016, Leo Burnett Shanghai won its first Greater China Effie Grand Prix Award. In terms of new business, it has won several blue-chip clients including Cadillac and Dream Cruises, and has also seen a remarkable expansion of existing clients’ business. The collaborative efforts that have been made in nurturing new talent and cultivating the company culture are also remarkable. In the company’s global People Survey, the Shanghai office achieved its highest engagement score in the last five years.
