DDB’s creative teams win at Mediacorp Young Lions Competition 2016: one team to represent Singapore at Cannes Young Lions in June
Team DDB Singapore took pole position at the Mediacorp Young Lions Competition held last night, when its creative teams, Christine Lim and Joanna Ortega took first place in the Cyber category and Eugene Yow and Tytan Chang took second place in the Film category.
Lim (pictured left) and Ortega will go on to represent Singapore at the Cannes Young Lions Competition in June, and Yow and Chang will do the same at Spikes Asia 2016.
Congratulating the teams, Joji Jacob, Group Executive Creative Director, DDB Group Singapore said, “There’s nothing more gratifying than having our youngest teams win big. Christine, Joanna, Eugene and Tytan competed against almost 20 other teams to come out tops. And now they get to match their talents against the world’s best and brightest in Cannes. All of us at DDB Group Singapore are very proud of them.”
The winning teams earn for themselves a fully-sponsored trip which includes four-day passes to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, all-expense paid return air tickets and accommodation to Cannes, France. They will also represent Singapore at the Young Spikes Competition at Spikes Asia 2016 in September.
In its fifth year, the Mediacorp Young Lions Competition seeks to nurture the next generation of creative talents in the local advertising scene and provide a platform to showcase their skills at an international level. The competition is open to all young creatives below 30 years of age working in creative agencies based in Singapore. The final creative work was judged by a panel of leading Creative Directors.
The Cannes Young Lions Competition is part of the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, to be held in France from 18 to 25 June.

How does the winning cyber entry make sense? Extra 50MB of dropbox space rewarded, when people recycle. Don’t they know that more storage space equals to more energy consumption. That is so counter productive for the earth.
Obviously the judges haven’t done their research when they chose the winner. Such a surface decision for that catergory

How is this saving the planet? ???? on the winning entry for entry ????
All these local contests are just pretty pointless. Someone from DDB heads the jury, DDB wins big. Rinse and repeat and rinse.
Mediacorp knows absolutely nothing about advertising. But they have friends in DDB. The jury of Cyber was a one man jury. No prize for guessing from which agency.
so much hate for ddb. hahaha.
Why whine so much. Grow up. Be a good sport and just congratulate the young teams for winning lah.
Stop complaining kids. Chris Chiu was head of jury.
It might help if Mediacorp actually sent out a press release to campaign brief. It looks like only ddb sent out a release. Dummies. They go to all the expense of organising a cannes creative competition and then don’t sent the release on the winners to the number one creative site. Dummies (Drinks on you in cannes Kim)
