After nearly four years of tireless service working as Managing Director/Executive Producer for The Sweet Shop Asia/MENA, Claire Davidson (pictured left) has decided to step down in response to a growing call to work on international aid and humanitarian projects. Executive Producer Daniel Ho (right), a three-year veteran of The Sweet Shop Asia/MENA family, will be taking the reins in the region.

“Working with Claire has been an honour and a privilege. She is the ultimate professional and a fantastic leader. She will be greatly missed, not just by myself and the team at The Sweet Shop, but also by the agencies and clients who have worked with her. Stepping up to her role will be a real challenge but its one I look forward to,” said Ho.

Since 2012, Davidson and Ho have worked side by side to establish The Sweet Shop brand in Asia and Mena and both have been instrumental in the company’s growth within the region. With headquarters in Bangkok, The Sweet Shop Asia/MENA has successfully expanded its office, with employees now in China, Indonesia and Malaysia to facilitate a network that is adept at meeting production demands throughout the region.

“Daniel is an incredible resource and has always been a key part of The Sweet Shop Asia/MENA’s DNA,” said Davvidson. “We’ve worked side by side together since the company opened its doors in Bangkok and Daniel is a phenomenal talent”.

“It was a hard decision to make, but after surviving both of the Nepal earthquakes my life changed in so many ways,” Davidson said of her decision. “With all of the volunteer work that I have done with animals in Asia as well as my work with International Medial Corps in Nepal, the move felt natural. The people and situations I have encountered provided me with a truly eye opening experience. I really want to focus all of my efforts on helping better humanity in any way I can.”

Davidson’s new chapter will begin at International Medical Corps (IMC), a global non-profit organization, where she will be working on the ground in a number of emergency, disaster and conflict zones. Her first project will take her into Liberia where she will be joining IMC’s team of dedicated humanitarians on the front line in their fight against the deadly Ebola virus.

Paul Prince, CEO & Founding Partner of The Sweet Shop said, “I’d like to personally congratulate Claire on her phenomenal contribution to our group. She and Daniel have established the greater Asia market and given us a great platform to build upon. We know that Daniel will continue to build upon that stellar track record. From the whole family of The Sweet Shop, we send Claire off with the best of wishes and admiration on her new adventures, working with the International Medical Corps. So proud of her.”
