BBDO_KancilTrophies.jpg“This is certainly an encouraging sign that the advertising industry continues to push the creative boundaries to meet and exceed expectations,” said Dato’ Johnny Mun, President of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As).

Mun added that the advertising industry must brace itself to work even harder with the implementation of the goods and services tax (GST). “We must not only play well, but score to win the hearts and loyalty of consumers. The real our real bosses.”

DatukVincentLee.jpgTan Sri Vincent Lee, the honorary life president of the 4As and founder of advertising agency Naga DDB, was inducted into the 4As Hall of Fame. Lee (pictured right) served as 4As president from 2005 – 2011.

The Chairman’s Award was presented to Datuk Dr. Wong Lai Sum, CEO of Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (MATRADE) and Dato Rohana Rozhan, CEO of Astro Malaysia Holdings.

“We’re working feverishly to raise our standards with a number of initiatives that we plan to introduce soon,” said Mun. “One initiative is to have the prestigious Berlin School of Creativity adopt Kuala Lumpur as its ASEAN hub. Another project is the introduction of the Certification of Practice which will allow senior members of the advertising industry to be seated alongside our clients and take our rightful place in the boardrooms.”

The Kancil Awards, organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents of Malaysia (4As), covers outstanding creative work in film, radio, print, cyber, outdoor, craft, design, direct, and mobile categories.
