Razorfish Hong Kong hires veteran Seton Vermaak in newly created role as head of strategy

seton vermaak colour.jpgRazorfish Hong Kong has appointed 20-year strategy veteran Seton Vermaak in a newly created role as Head of Strategy. Vermaak will report to Razorfish Managing Director Joanna Kalenska.

Vermaak (pictured) joins from Dubai and brings more than 20 years of strategy development experience to the Razorfish team. He commented, “I’m honored to build on the existing Razorfish Hong Kong legacy of ground-breaking work for top brands like Nike. I bring a new depth of retail experience and believe technology has the power to link the off and online retail experience, creating a more dynamic and potent consumer-centric brand experience to help close the deal at point-of-sale. Speaking on the appointment Kalenska remarks, “Seton is an exceptional strategist, with a decades-long, proven track record leading digital strategic planning efforts for international brands. Vermaak will lead the team of Razorfish strategists in Hong Kong, and actively contribute to the Razorfish international strategy network across the globe. Vermaak will work to identify unarticulated fresh consumer insights to generate creative, yet effective, experiences and engagements plans for Razorfish clients, including Nike Hong Kong, JP Morgan, Intel, and Lenovo among others.

Vermaak grew up in Cape Town South Africa, and has worked his way across the globe from Africa to Europe, Dubai and now here in Asia. He brings a unique and balanced perspective, with a heavy client-side background, and a sprinkling of agency experience. He has also driven creative community initiatives such as the Creative Cape Town Cluster, a programme that placed significant Cape Town creatives on a platform where they could share their inspiring stories to other creatives.
