Y&R Malaysia launches Zed Spark programme to attract young talent and youth-related business

ZedSpark.jpgY&R Malaysia has launched the Zed Spark programme, a talent development programme uniquely tailored for Malaysia, recruiting top graduates from various universities across the country.

The programme’s initial outreach included the production and distribution of engaging communication materials to drive sign-ups, talks with students from leading universities and a digital platform to recruit graduates via Facebook

Y&R Malaysia’s inaugural Zed Spark team have been unveiled as Planner: Alyssa Teh, Account Executive: Adhawiyah (Dawiy) Binti Hussin, Junior Art Director: Elaine Poh and Designer: Hazel Ting. They were selected from a 30-strong shortlist of applicants from Malaysia’s foremost universities. They commence work in January 2014, forming a new team focussed on acquiring specific youth-related business.

“We sought out young talents who are driven, entrepreneurial-minded, creative and passionate,” explained Lisa Hezila, Managing Director, Y&R Malaysia. “Our mission is to train and enhance their skills and knowledge to succeed in the communication industry. Subject to their performance, the Zed Sparks will have the opportunity to work within the Y&R network overseas, a rare and exciting opportunity for these young graduates.”

The programme is being driven and mentored by Y&R Malaysia’s senior management, Lisa Hezila, Executive Creative: Director Gigi Lee, Client Services Director: Caroline Bal and Head of Finance: Lee Kean Keng.

Added Hezila, “By attracting the country’s brightest young talent, the Zed Spark team will be perfectly equipped to connect with Malaysia’s young consumers. This unique offering will be invaluable for brands seeking to engage the youth segment.”
