Ogilvy & Mather Beijing has been ECD-less since Bill Chan left the agency around six months ago and for the past month Ramakrishnan (left), who is deputy regional executive creative director Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific, has been based in Beijing overseeing the creative department.

When contacted this morning, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific’s chief creative officer Eugene Cheong, who is currently in Beijing, confirmed Ramakrishnan’s permanent move to China.

“Juggi has been babysitting our agency there for the last six weeks and, by all accounts, he seems to love the Chinese capital,” said Cheong. “He will move here permanently in the new year. A big office like Beijing needs a big talent like Juggi. He has already learnt 25 Chinese characters and thinks the vegetarian food here is pretty decent.”

Ramakrishnan joined Ogilvy in September 2009 after resigning from BBDO where he was ECD for three years. Previously he had a long and very highly-awarded career at Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore.
