New York Festivals 2012 International Advertising Awards Call for Entries: Final deadline Feb 27
ENTRY DETAILS.
This year, the International Advertising Awards streamlined its competitions and categories for efficiency and to reflect the current work being produced in the industry. With 131 unique categories, this restructuring resulted in a 43% reduction in categories across all competitions. In addition, New York Festivals also enhanced the submission process, improving the user experience across the board and allowing entrants to simultaneously enter a single piece in multiple categories.
"NYF streamlined its categories based on comments and conversations with
the Executive Jury during last year's judging sessions, said Michael
O'Rourke, President International Awards Group. "We used their
expertise as our guide and combined similar categories while maintaining
consistency and specificity."
The 2011 NYF International Advertising Awards competition reported an increase in its global footprint with 6 new countries submitting entries in the 2011 competition and an overall 37% increase in entries over the previous year's submissions.
Last year, for first time in the history of
the advertising competition, New York Festivals assembled an elite
group of Worldwide Chief Creative Officers from the world's top ad
agencies to participate on the live Executive Jury, moderated by Donald
Gunn (left), the founder of the The Gunn Report. Never before had so many high
level creative officers gathered in one room to judge the final rounds
of an advertising show.
The Executive Jury evaluates each shortlisted entry selected by the online Grand Jury. The Grand Jury, which is comprised of 300 International Creative Directors, making it the most diverse jury of any advertising competition in the world, will select the ads that earn a place on the shortlist from the first two rounds of judging. During live judging sessions in New York City, the 36 Chief Creative Officers making up the Executive Jury will select ads from this shortlist. The Executive Jury ensures that each entry that has progressed to the Finalist stage will be given the hands-on attention it deserves. The 2012 Executive Jury and Grand Jury will be announced in the coming weeks. The Executive Jury will convene in New York the week of April 28th.
The New York Show, NYF's 2-day series of events, begins on May 2nd and will feature creative panel discussions, keynote speakers, networking events, the 2012 Executive Jury Press Conference, exhibits, and the May 3rd International Advertising Awards ceremony. All New York Show events and the 2012 awards gala will take place at the New York Public Library's Beaux-Arts landmark building located at 455 Fifth Avenue at 40th Street in New York City.
The Final Deadline is Monday February 27 (New York time). Click here for more information.
