Richard Copping signs on with O&M Asia Pacific
Richard Copping has joined Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific as a Regional Creative Director. Effective immediately, Copping will report to Eugene Cheong, Regional Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific.
Commenting on his appointment, Cheong said: “Richie’s arrival completes the creative rejuvenation of Ogilvy Singapore. He’s the creative equivalent of a warhorse: a leader endowed with patience and passion, and who possesses the necessary horsepower to do the heavy lifting on big brands and win glittery trophies at derbies around the world.”
Based in Singapore, Copping will be re-establishing his award-winning partnership with old friend and colleague Juggi Ramakrishnan, Deputy Regional ECD, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific. His remit is to focus on new business and elevate the creative offering of the agency in the region. Copping is an industry veteran with 15 years of experience, 10 of which were spent in Asia. He resigned as Head of Art at Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore in May last year and has been freelancing for Ogilvy Singapore since.
Copping has racked up awards aplenty, from Cannes to D&AD to CCAs, and was named Creative Director of the Year in 2007 and the number 1 Creative in Asia Pacific in 2008 and ranked No2 in the 2009 Creative Rankings. During Richard’s watch, Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore walked away with many awards and accolades, including Campaign Brief Asia’s Creative Agency of the Year in 2007. In 2008, the agency also won the title of Creative Agency of the Year, separately awarded by Gunn Report and Campaign Asia.
His appointment, together with the hiring of Steve Back as Chief Creative Officer of Ogilvy Singapore and James Daniels as Regional ECD for Unilever, further strengthens the creative firepower of Ogilvy Asia Pacific.

Congrats. But how many regional, deputy, creative director, partners, ecds does O&M need? The big red machine rolls on.
That office should be called O&M SAATCHI …
Richard & Juggi… nice Ogilvy.
This must be Stu Mills’ old job?
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men…. couldn’t put ogilvy together again.

Eugene, you are turning into Khai.
Congrats richie!
Good Lord Ogilvy are seriously deluded or just want scam in the regional office too.
Is Juggi actually working on any real business?
Will Richard actually work on any real business?
No.
Having worked with Richie I can tell you, he has worked on real business and is passionate about trying to win awards for real business.
Good to see him fall on his feet, he deserves it.
Congrats mate!
God there are some little minded jealous people out there and they are always the people who have done nothing. Grow some balls.
Grow some balls yerself 3.15
Good on yer Richie! Mike
Great bloke, good luck to you Ritchie.
Yes! Like me…!!!
What do you mean he sounds like khai….he used to write all that stuff for khai so it comes naturally.
Chances are, all the good posts above (praising him) are written by the man himself – just to offset all the negative truth that’s going to pour in.
Greenaway’s “Servant” is now Eugene’s “Stallion”? What new business will this team work on? Not been able to save any of the past few battles for sure. Eno? Lexus? What else? Of course this office has nothing to worry about as long as there’s someone lobbying for them in NYC. Sir Sorrell, any comments?
So sad that Saatchi Singapore has no talent left.
