Singapore leads the way in the region with 16 shortlisted entries, all from Ogilvy Singapore (12 on behalf of Philips Electronics “Dutch MasterJuices” and four for Ponds “Bodybuilder”). Philips Electronics “Dutch MasterJuices” was created by Ogilvy Singapore in collaboration with their Amsterdam and London offices.

China has five shortlisted entries, including three from McCann Health Shanghai for Glaxo Smith Kline “A Warning for the Future”.

Philippines has four entries on The One Show shortlist: two from GIGIL Manila (one each for Levi’s “Studs” and KonsultaMD “Dr. Internet”) and two from McCann Worldgroup Philippines, Taguig for Fully Booked (one each for “Lives-Moe and “Lives-Ed”).

Four entries from Republic of Korea are on the shortlist, including two from HS Ad, Seoul for Kwangdong Pharmaceutical “Digest Food Faster”.

McCann Tokyo has two of Japan’s three shortlisted entries for Mondelez Japan “GO!! NEW”.

Taiwan has two on the shortlist, both from X-Line Co. (Dentsu Group) in Taipei for Taiwan Star Telecomm “Black Spots Campaign”.

Introduced three years ago, The One Show early entry system benefits all parties involved in the process, including creative teams who submit entries, agency management responsible for awards budgeting and judges who review the work in batches as it comes in.

“By submitting work when it’s fresh and top-of-mind, creative teams can more easily access materials while they are readily available and capitalize in real time on the work’s industry buzz,” said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club for Creativity.

“Agency management also gains a budgeting advantage by spreading awards spending over a 12-month period across two calendar years,” he added.  “From a judging perspective, the work is reviewed when it’s fresh and still topical, and jury members can give it greater attention because they’re reviewing smaller batches of entries.”

The One Show 2019 finalists list will be announced in April in lead up the The One Show awards ceremonies on May 8 and 10, 2019 during Creative Week in New York.
