Ogilvy Greater China wins Network of the Year and Best of Show at One Show Greater China

One Show 2018_Ogilvy_Network of the Year.jpgIn a nod to the agency’s long-standing reputation as a creative leader in the industry, Ogilvy Greater China wins Network of the Year, and bagged a total of 9 awards Friday night, including Best in Show at top international advertising festival organized by The One Club for Creativity. The One Show Greater China places particular emphasis on creativity and looks at the convergence of international standards with local culture and consumer insights to select the most representative works.

Reed Collins, Chief Creative Officer of Ogilvy North Asia, who delivered a speech the day before on ‘creativity across continents’, commented on the results, “To have three offices contributing work for three of our most important brands across the region is truly wonderful. It makes this achievement so much more impressive.”

 

Ogilvy’s Shanghai office was recognized for work with cosmetics brand, Chando, receiving two bronze pencils. Ogilvy’s Hong Kong office came away with one gold, a silver and a bronze for work with KFC, and the Ogilvy Beijing office ended the night with two bronze pencils and one gold, as well as Best of Show all for their work with Wanda Group.

 

Ogilvy’s work with Wanda Group for the campaign “52 Mayors of Danzhai” is story of hope, innovation and progress. Inviting a total of 52 influencers to the village of Danzhai to serve as mayor for one week each. Each influencer brought their own unique passions, talents and followers to the village, sharing the beauty of Danzhai to the world through the power of great content communication. The campaign received over 950 million media impressions and Danzhai saw a 400% increase in tourism, lifting the isolated village out of poverty.

 

Selina Teng, President of Ogilvy Beijing commented on the awards, saying, “First and foremost, we are grateful for being given the opportunity and trust from Wanda Group to carry out this campaign. The recognition we received from One Show is a testament to our people who have come together, under the One Ogilvy strategy, to seamlessly deliver creative solutions that answer the client’s needs and continue to make brands matter across increasingly fragmented markets.”

 

In addition, the One Show also recognized Ogilvy’s commitment to fostering young talent. The Shanghai office winning the Youth Award for Agency of the Year is emblematic of Ogilvy’s culture as a “teaching hospital,”  nurturing future talents of the industry.
