StarHub Singapore and BLKJ bring together six of the world’s fastest individuals to form ‘The World’s Fastest Band’ for new integrated campaign

Starhub.jpgIn May 2018, StarHub was ranked No.1 in Singapore for its mobile speeds by the OpenSignal Speed Awards. To announce its status as Singapore’s fastest unlimited network, StarHub has brought together six of the world’s fastest individuals to form ‘The World’s Fastest Band’ for a new integrated campaign created in partnership with BLKJ Singapore.

‘The World’s Fastest Band’ is made up of 6 extraordinary individuals, each of whom are the world’s fastest at performing various actions, from head-smashing to bum skipping. It includes 4 Guinness World Record holders, a former MMA fighter and the creator of 2018’s most viral dance move: ‘The Floss’.

The main film, a quirky 60-second music video, meshes the sounds of each band member’s lightning-fast actions into a supercharged symphony.

Starhub2.jpgStarhub3.jpgThe integrated campaign kicked off with multiple pieces of content introducing the band, leading up to the main film’s launch on 11 August. It will run island-wide over the next few months. In addition to print, outdoor, TV and cinema, the campaign will also feature a series of Facebook pre-rolls as well as Instagram stories and polls. These include band members smashing their personal bests and setting new speed records.

“We took a social-first approach for this campaign. A strategy that we believe reflects shifts in consumer tastes and behaviour. Instead of creating one big film and pulling it down to multiple cutdowns, we created multiple pieces of content that pull up to that big film,” said Rowena Bhagchandani, CEO and Co-Founder of BLKJ, “If you noticed, we chose to feature the Internet famous as opposed to traditional celebrities. All our band members are Youtube or Instagram famous in their own right. Our approach allowed us to shine the spotlight on each one of their remarkable talents and tell an even more compelling story.”
