Living in Thailand keeps you fit in a spot for Syn Mun Kong health insurance via Rabbit's Tale

SMK Fit.jpgSyn Mun Kong has launched an online film for their health insurance products that provides discounts on insurance premiums based on different levels of health condition and fitness. But you do not have to be an athlete, anyone can get a discount. Instead of seeing people stay healthy by eating clean food or exercise in their advertising, we see how just living in Bangkok could also make you "healthier" and it is portrayed in an amusing way.

Entitled "SMK Fit: Thank you Thailand, for keeping us fit", the online ad helps deliver business impact by creating social buzz among Bangkokians and Expats living in Bangkok. Within the first 24 hours, the campaign attracted 1.5 million views, 8,600 shares and 58,900 interactions, and earned $183,000 worth of free media.

"I do not drive, commuting in Bangkok through public transportation or bicycle. Just like other Bangkokians, I am always facing many troubles on my journey and daily routines in town. I always wonder to myself why I'm so fit and able to bear these things," he said.

"I turned those difficulties into satirical humor in the online ad campaign to make people be more aware and realize that by just living their daily life, they are fit enough to get discounts from the "SMK Fit" campaign," said Buddhaphol.

Syn Mun Kong has offered the "SMK Fit" health insurance campaign in a hope to encourage customers who stay fit and healthy to enjoy a special discount on insurance premiums of up to 15 per cent, depending on the condition of their health. Under the campaign, customers will enjoy larger discounts on insurance premiums if they are fit and healthy. It is based on the basic idea of insurance that highly focuses on health support, and its customers, who are healthy and fit, should enjoy a lower risk of getting sick than those who are unhealthy and unfit. Consequently customers, who have higher levels of fitness and health, should pay less on insurance premiums than those who have lower levels of fitness and health.

Although Syn Mun Kong is best known as a leader in car insurance, the company also has a strong business in the field of health insurance. Syn Mun Kong is the first company in the market offering health insurance policies dependent on differing levels of health and fitness, for over six years, with the focus on providing health promotion and support, not just providing health insurance coverage.
