Fernleaf and BBDO Malaysia go on the pursuit of greatness helping people achieve their dreams

Fernleaf.jpgFernleaf Malaysia makes a grand comeback with BBDO Malaysia, officially rolling out its “Go For Greatness” campaign nationwide.

The campaign was built on the insight that while Malaysians often have a desire for greatness, many are held back by societal pressures to conform and stay in line. Fernleaf’s new “Go For Greatness” campaign thus aims to inspire people to look away from the discouraging voices outside, and focus on the goodness from home to fuel their pursuit of greatness.

To bring this message to life, BBDO Malaysia worked with PRS productions to create two films based on real stories of Malaysians who overcame great challenges to achieve greatness.

Fernlef2.jpgFernleaf 4.jpgFernleaf 3.jpgThe first film features Mavin Khoo and his struggle to become a world-renowned dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Today, Mavin remains one of the few male Bharatanatyam soloists, with numerous performances around the world.

The second film features Siti Hanisah, the youngest Malaysian woman to conquer Mount Everest. Hailing from a humble FELDA settlement, Siti proved that neither naysayers nor the world’s most deadly hiking trails can stop a determined mind from achieving greater heights.

Through these films, Fernleaf positions itself as the goodness that facilitates greatness, while highlighting the brand’s provenance story–100% goodness of dairy from the clean, green and pure New Zealand.

“Siti and Mavin’s stories touched us deeply, and we hope everyone who watches their films feels the same,” said VJ Anand, Executive Creative Director of BBDO.

“We are excited to make a strong comeback for Fernleaf by rallying Malaysians to not settle for less, and to always strive for greatness. We want them to know that Fernleaf has got their back with good nutrition that will support them in their journey for greatness. I believe the films bring that to life and will help inspire all of us to be a voice of goodness to people around us,” said Karen Ong, Marketing Director of Fonterra Malaysia.

The BBDO team behind this campaign, led by Farrah Harith McPherson, includes VJ Anand, Lee Tak Shune, Julian Yap, Deborah Woong, Nisha Khirudin, Hugo Pacheco, Khalida Kamaludin, and Lucas Yap.
