The-Hitmans-Bodyguard-movie-Reynolds-and-Jackson.jpgFinishing ahead of pre-weekend expectations, FINCH director Patrick Hughes’ action-comedy romp starring Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek and Gary Oldman opened it’s U.S. box office run with an estimated 21.6 million to finish in first place in the U.S.

The film tells the story of the world’s top bodyguard Michael Bryce (Reynolds) who has to keep his new client Darius Kincaid (Jackson), an infamous hitman with links to Bryce’s past, alive along enough so he can testify against a notorious war criminal (Oldman) at the International Court of Justice.

Produced by Millennium Films and released by Lionsgate, Hughes’ third feature film was shot on location across London, Amsterdam and Sofia, and was shot by fellow Aussie Jules O’Loughlin ACS ASC.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard will be released in cinemas across Australia on August 31.

Earlier this year Hughes took a break from post-production in London to return home to helm the AFL’s season launcher starring Chris Hemsworth.

Last month he finished a new campaign for McDonald’s via DDB Sydney and shot the epic Hungry Jack’s ‘Keeping it Real’ campaign via Clemenger BBDO, Sydney, which CB covered earlier this week.
