Himanshu Saxena joins Edelman India as brand lead in Mumbai reporting to Thukral and Desai

Himanshu Saxena.jpgEdelman has appointed Himanshu Saxena as the Brand Lead for India, effective immediately. Saxena (pictured left) will lead the firm’s brand and consumer marketing business in the country with immediate responsibility for vision, strategy and operations.

Saxena’s announcement follows a string of senior hires across Edelman’s global network in the integrated brand communications space, including Mark Renshaw, global chair of the Brand practice, and Rupen Desai, vice chairman, APACMEA. Based in Mumbai, Saxena reports to Rakesh Thukral, managing director of Edelman India, as well as Desai.

Saxena is an industry veteran with over 24 years of experience in marketing, advertising, branding, market research and brand management functions in South Asian markets. In his previous role, Saxena was leading the marketing function at Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. as Vice-President – Brand Management & Integrated Communications. He has held leadership positions at some of the leading advertising agencies in India such as Lowe, J. Walter Thompson and McCann Worldgroup.

Over the course of his career, Saxena has managed several marquee brands and companies such as Unilever, GSK, HSBC, PepsiCo, ESPN, Nike, Diageo, Barclays, Marico, Madura Garments, Asian Paints, Quikr, Jet Airways, AT&T, Airtel, Idea Cellular, among others.
