Yue (pictured) will be partnering with the current ECDs, Thomas Zhu and Darren Crawforth, to share client responsibility in Shanghai. As Ogilvy China is moving towards an integrated structure, the joining of Yue will strengthen its creative firepower in Shanghai while putting more senior creative leadership on clients in need.

Commenting on the hiring Fink said, “Yue is an award winning creative with a track record of attracting great talents and managing a department – he is exactly the creative leaders we’ve been looking for. Moving to a fully integrated business, we expect our ECDs to take on our clients’ business challenges and solve them with outstanding ideas and creative solutions. Our aim is to create influential work that is recognized by clients, talked about by consumers, and awarded by the industry. I’m very much looking forward to working with him.”

Moving from Dentsu, Yue has over 23 years’ experience in the industry, having worked on accounts across the FMCG, retail, finance, automobile, travel and tourism sectors. Yue is also a decorated professional whose work has won numerous awards at Cannes, Spikes, One Show, Clio, D&AD, LIA, and many other award shows. In the creative community, he has been recognized as a seasoned leader that young creatives desire to work with, as he has demonstrated the power to bring people together and boost creative fire.

Speaking on his new role Yue said, “In days where the lines between communication approaches have never been blurrier, I strongly believe Ogilvy will be an outstanding platform for creatives to play, push boundaries, and thrive. I feel extremely excited to join such a platform, and to work with talented people and respected clients, while writing a new era in advertising.”

“As we transition to a single integrated branded agency, we saw the need to strengthen our creative depth. Our clients want and deserve more senior creative leadership that can seamlessly work across domains of expertise and tackle our clients’ most vexing business challenges. In our new client-centric structure, we need great conceptual thinkers with the ability to navigate the modern marketing landscape and conduct an orchestra of specialists. Chee Guan very much fits this vision, and we’re so excited to have him on board.” said Debby Cheung, President of Ogilvy Shanghai.
