Jack Mickle joins Ogilvy & Mather Japan as chief executive officer + Leo Shiina promoted to COO

Jack Mickle.jpgOgilvy & Mather Japan Group has a new management lineup with immediate effect. Jack Mickle joins the network as Chief Executive Officer, and Leo Shiina – Group Finance Director – will be taking on new responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer.

Mickle (pictured) is an international advertising executive with deep experience in the U.S. and Asia, where he worked for twelve years with Saatchi & Saatchi in Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan. Mickle brings a wealth of experience and will be overseeing key client relationships in addition to O&M’s overall growth strategy in the Japanese market.

Commenting on Mickle’s appointment, Chris Reitermann, co-CEO, O&M Asia Pacific said, “Jack has substantial agency experience in Japan and throughout Asia, having worked in Tokyo for a number of years serving large international and Japanese clients. We are very pleased that he has accepted this role to further evolve Ogilvy Japan with its continued focus to deliver integrated modern marketing services for our clients.”

Leo Shiina – a key member of the Japan management team for a decade – will take the lead as COO to help drive the agency’s operations. Kent Wertime, co-CEO of Asia-Pacific, noted, “As Group Finance Director, Leo has played an invaluable role in managing a number of important aspects of Ogilvy Japan’s operations. I am thrilled to see his excellent work recognized as he now works closely with Jack and the Ogilvy Japan Exco to further shape our office as a leading international agency in Japan.”
