Asia-Pacific scores six finalists at the SXSW Innovation Awards in Austin, Texas

Across 13 categories, in fields ranging from biotech and digital security to smart cities and beyond, the advisory board of the SXSW Interactive Innovation click-thumb-400x269-228486.jpgAwards selected only the top 5 entries. This handful of projects represents the connected world’s best and most forward-thinking ideas.

 

DDB Sydney’s #comeonin campaign for the Sydney Opera House and Leo Burnett Melbourne’s ‘Reword‘ campaign for Headspace have both been named a finalist in the ‘Innovation In Connecting People category’ awarded for the best new way to connect and communicate with others.

YOUTH-CANCER-thumb-400x246-236736.jpgOther finalists from Australia include R/GA Sydney for Google Australia’s ‘Through The Dark‘ campaign and Periscope Pictures, Hungry Sky and Western Australian Museum for ‘Beneath the Waves‘ in the Visual Media Experience category – awarded for content creation and delivery that moves beyond passive viewership by providing a more immersive and engaging entertainment experience.

SBS Online Australia was named a finalist for ‘My Grandmother’s Lingo‘ in the Responsive Design category – awarded for excellent digital design, creating the best-integrated interaction in terms of content, aesthetics, and functionality.

Chroma Coda Melbourne has been shortlisted in the VR & AR category for ‘The Music Room‘.

Winners are announced at the SXSW Innovation Awards Ceremony on March 14 in Austin, TX.
