With the younger generation increasingly flying the coop over Lunar New Year despite it being the one time of year Chinese families gather for reunions, Jetstar is taking a stand – put family first and stay home.

Free flight 2.jpgAs such, Jetstar is committed to waive all change fees and fare difference for passengers who decide to move their flight departures on 27 and 28 January — which is the eve and first day of the Lunar New Year — to enjoy get-togethers with the whole family.

As part of the campaign conceptualised and content created by AKA Asia, Jetstar conducted a social experiment to find out if young travellers would give up free flight tickets that would require travel over Lunar New Year, after hearing family members discuss the importance of the festive season to them. Watch their reactions here.

“As an airline, we carry our customers to their dream destinations all year long. However, this is the time we should stay home as family comes first. We hope our customers will treasure their reunion at home with their loved ones this coming Lunar New Year, because you can always travel after that,” said Chantal van Wijnbergen, Jetstar Regional Marketing Manager, Southeast Asia.
