Singapore CCA Awards: MullenLowe awarded Agency of the Year; BBH net Grand Prix; Ogilvy & Mather, Kinetic and DDB Group also big winners

Hero Shot Avatars.jpgThe Singapore-based Gong CCA 2016 Awards Show was held last night and the big agency winners were MullenLowe Singapore, BBH Singapore, Kinetic, Ogilvy & Mather and DDB Group.

MullenLowe Singapore was awarded the Agency of the Year title with a haul of awards that included a Best of Category, 10 Golds, 9 Silvers and 6 Bronzes.

The coveted Grand Prix went to BBH Asia Pacific for its entry “Nike Unlimited Stadium” (pictured above). It was a great performance from BBH, who walked away from the night with 4 Best of Category awards, 6 Golds, 8 Silvers and 5 Bronze awards.

Kinetic Singapore bagged both Independent Agency of the Year and Design Agency of the Year once again.

CCA 2016_Digital Agency of the Year2.jpgOgilvy & Mather (pictured right) was awarded Digital Agency of the Year, taking home 24 awards including 8 Golds, 7 Silvers, 5 Bronzes as well as the highly coveted Best of Show awards in the Direct and Mobile categories for Allianz Amateur Replay and Singtel Firecracker respectively.

Eugene Cheong, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy & Mather Singapore and Asia Pacific, said, “I am incredibly proud of all the work that was featured. And I am incredibly proud of my team. DDB Group Singapore took home the Gong for Good Award with their entry ‘Do You See That Doggie in the Shelter’ for SPCA, an award for works that promote social responsibility. They also won a Best of Category, 3 Golds, 7 Silvers and 17 Bronzes.

In addition, DDB’s Cheryl Chu and Shahrin Izhar both clinched the Gold from 21 teams in the NexGen, a mini creative competition for creatives under 30 years of age.

Other awards for young creative talents included Alex Tan of MullenLowe Singapore who took home the Young Art Director of the Year Award, Gian Jonathan of Kinetic Singapore for Young Designer of the Year and Augustus Sung of Ogilvy & Mather who won the Young Copywriter of the Year Award. Other individual awards went to Lee Han-Ting of Smallshop Communications for Producer of the Year, Jeremy Wong of Nemesis Pictures for Photographer of the Year and Wayne Peng of Smallshop Communications for Director of the Year.

Unilever Singapore was named Advertiser of the Year having bagged the most gold awards as a client.

Production Company of the Year Award went to Freeflow Productions for the third year running.

SongZu at CCA.jpgSong Zu Singapore won the top awards in both the Music and Sound Design film craft categories.

Gerard Fitzgerald’s score for Smallshop Communication’s CCTV My Father’s Journey spot won Gold for Original Music. This is Fitzgerald’s second Gold CCA Award in the past three years having previously won Gold for his “Bundy Men Like Us spot” in 2014.

In the Sound Design category Damian Waddell, Abby Sie and Lindsay Jehan took out the only award presented which was a Silver for Tiger Beer “Wok” for Droga 5.
