OgilvyMalaysia_hires.jpgHor Yew Pong has joined Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia as the Creative Director for the Pizza Hut and Coke account, bringing onboard over 16 years of experience from his stints at Saatchi & Saatchi, McCann Erickson, Y&R, Naga DDB and BBDO.

As one of the country’s leading creatives, his work speaks for itself. Having garnered over 200 regional and international awards, he also recently added a Gold and two Silver Cannes Lions to his collection last year.

“It’s great to be reconnected with Gavin and some familiar faces at Ogilvy. This is an exciting time for me, as I see many like-minded, hungry people in the agency. I’m looking forward to grow brands, elevate creative work and, most importantly, be part of the family that captures Ogilvy’s sixth Cannes Network of the Year Award,” says Pong.

Another addition to the creative manpower is Tengku Shariar, who spent the last 7 years in McCann Erickson producing work for clients such as Petronas, Mitsubishi, Coke and more. He holds a strong design and digital background, an expertise that will add strengths to the creative output at Ogilvy.

“I’ve always admired Ogilvy’s culture and what they stand for. Divine discontent keeps us hungry and real about the work. I’m glad to be part of the team, I hope I can help keep this tradition alive and well for the years to come,” says Shariar.

Meanwhile, as one who is no stranger to the Ogilvy culture, Jarrod Reginald rises to the ranks of Creative Director after only a year of returning ‘home’ to Ogilvy in 2015, where he previously spent 7 years in. Over the years, he has gained notoriety in the industry, creating waves with award-winning work.

“It’s great to be back home to where I first cut my teeth on advertising. Over here, amongst young blood and industry giants, we’re always searching for the next Big Idea … shaking up the industry one gargantuan leap at a time. I can’t wait to see where this road takes us,” says Reginald.

“I’m excited to have Pong, Shariar and Jarrod onboard. They each add individual strengths to our creative team, but we all share the same hunger for good work and great results,” says Gavin Simpson, Chief Creative Office of Ogilvy Malaysia.

The appointment come the week after the departure of group creative director CK Tan.
