Sander van Maarschalkerweerd, founder and managing director of Sizzer Amsterdam, has been named as Music + Sound jury president for the 2016 London International Awards (LIA).

Says Sander: "Having served as a member of the LIA Music + Sound Jury a few years ago, it's a huge honor to have been invited as this year's jury president."

Music + Sound observes the execution of original, adapted and repurposed pieces of music and sound effects in creatively enhancing a brand.

Says Sander on the significance of the medium: "Brands and music need each other more than ever. Brands can create a much-needed platform for artists. And for brands, music is a way of connecting with their target groups on an emotional level. It has become easier for brands to touch into all that the music world has to offer, but doing it in a creative and truthful manner is still a great challenge. I look forward to the discussions with the other jury members and to select the work that sets the bar in the Music & Sound category."

Sander founded Sizzer Amsterdam in 2005 with the goal of making some of the music world's finest talent accessible to the world of advertising. Under Sander's leadership, Sizzer Amsterdam has become an established and award-winning music agency, as well as a trusted partner for many global brands and creative agencies.
