Stirred.jpgCancer can be conquered and HCG, a leading name for cancer care in India, celebrated the occasion of Cancer Survivors Day in 2015 with powerful messages of hope sent out to thousands of cancer patients, survivors and their families.

Recognizing the need to instill the spirit of “never say die” in cancer patients, Bangalore-based agency Stirred created for HCG, a multi-media campaign, “SelfV”, which featured actual cancer survivors.

Stirred 2.jpgThe campaign invited other cancer survivors and supporters to share short SelfVs (or self-videos shot on phones) to lend strength and hope to cancer patients.

The campaign resulted in 425 entries from all over the world, including SelfV-ies from celebrities like the Bollywood actor Om Puri, and popular regional actor, Shivraj Kumar, who urged patients to never give up the fight against cancer.

The SelfV-ies were posted on social media sites where thousands watched and shared them.

The best entry was awarded a car, while other exceptional videos went on to win a slew of prizes.

Commenting on the campaign, Edward Anthony, Executive Creative Director, Stirred (pictured left), said, “When survivors and their families step forward to share deeply personal takes on their battle with cancer, the communication ceases to be an artificial construct from an agency; it becomes tales of courage and heroism.”
