Rubber Boy.jpgLeo Burnett Group Malaysia has released it’s latest campaign for Petronas – a webfilm titled ‘Rubber Boy’ for Chinese New Year celebrations.

‘Rubber Boy’ revolves around the relationship between a mother and her son, capturing facets of their relationship. The webfilm brings forward a powerful message and that is – happiness lies in the blessings around you. While it may be easy to want what others have, we must remember that we each are blessed in our own way, and it is important to appreciate what we have.

Rubber Boy2.jpg“We believe this story is relatable to us all. We are guilty of this at one point or another where in chasing our dreams, we lose sight of what’s important – our loved ones. We hope that ‘Rubber Boy’ will inspire Malaysians to take a minute to appreciate their greatest blessings” said James Yap, Creative Director of Leo Burnett. He added “Our longstanding partnership with Petronas has allowed us to tell stories of Malaysians and we hope to continue doing so as we believe that every Malaysian is an inspiration”

Rubber Boy3.jpgAccording to Fitri Mydin, Head, Campaign Management of Petronas, “Petronas is an organisation that is rooted in the Malaysian values and traditions. The team at Leo Burnett Group Malaysia understands this about us and creatively turned these values and traditions into inspiring stories.”

Petronas’ Chinese New Year 2016 campaign also includes a crowd-sourcing social engagement where a series of comic illustrations will be developed based on Malaysians’ very own greatest blessing stories. To participate, Malaysians simply need to submit their greatest blessings entries on Petronas’ social platforms using #greatestblessing. Submissions are open until 15 February 2016.
