Eight Partnership unveils One Museum Place for blue-chip developer Hines in Shanghai

Hines.jpgEight Partnership has announced a new brand created for Houston-based developer Hines. One Museum Place, scheduled to open in 2017, is the blue-chip developer’s latest mixed use project in China.

A nearly 2M sqft office-centric development which will supply top-quality space, One Museum Place is a 54-story tower located in Shanghai’s core commercial district of Jing An and will establish the east side of the district as the area’s new center of gravity.

Inspired by the classical “golden ratio” that is often represented as a perfect mathematical spiral shape, the visual brand identity for One Museum Place is a nod to the ambitious quality and aesthetic values of the project, as well as the proximity to Shanghai’s newly opened Natural History Museum and the artistic and cultural content of the adjacent Jing An Sculpture Park.

“Given the top Grade A+ specifications Hines has been stipulating for this project, we developed a two-pronged brand strategy: the best technical specifications powering the best workplace for people – the symbiotic interplay between hardware and software,” said Eight’s Managing Director, Yves N’Gakoutou during the building’s recent topping-out ceremony.

“It’s about top hardware enabling employees of the leading corporations to collaborate creatively and effectively. No detail has been spared in creating the best-of-the-best workplace.”

The name of the project, One Museum Place, references the transit-focused location immediately on top of and directly connected to a new subway station on Metro line 13, which has now been officially named “Natural History Museum Station.” The location is also serviced by convenient road ramp-access onto the North/South elevated expressway, one of the most important thoroughfares in Shanghai.

By its sheer scale and quality, the project is set to become the core anchor for the entire area being branded “Museum Place” which features a number of ambitious, high-quality projects. The unveiling of the One Museum Place brand coincides with Hines’ 20th year in China.
