Rohit Chatterjee joins the leadership team at BBDO India as vice president Mumbai

Rohit Chatterjee - Vice President, BBDO India.jpgBBDO India has appointed Rohit Chatterjee as Vice President, Mumbai. Chatterjee (pictured left) recently moved from Lowe India and has joined the leadership team that is growing and shaping BBDO India’s creative reputation across the world. In his role, Chatterjee will be looking to grow the business out of Mumbai and also supporting Rajesh Sikroria, BBDO India’s newly appointed President.

 

On appointing Chatterjee as the Vice President – Mumbai, Sikroria said, “I am delighted to have Rohit with us at this moment. There couldn’t have been a better time. I am very sure his experience and energy will help us in our endeavour to beat our own benchmarks in the coming years.”

Chatterjee joins BBDO from Lowe India where he worked for a period of 10 years across a good cross section of local and global brands covering Lifebuoy, ICICI Pru Life Insurance, Vim, Domex, Freecharge and Pureit amongst others. His career highlight came with his brand Lifebuoy, where he led his team in successfully re-launching the core brand globally and propagating Global Hand Wash Day, a global event to promote hand washing. This led to the Lifebuoy’s Social mission – Save A Village campaign which won Lowe their first Silver at Cannes in the Film Category.

 

Chatterjee started his career with JWT’s direct marketing wing  and then moved to Ogilvy & Mather where he worked on Hutchison Telecom (now Vodafone) and was an integral part of the team that launched Hutch nationally, the network campaign ‘You and I’ and the launch of GPRS technology in India for the first time.

 

On joining BBDO India, Chatterjee said, “In the past, I have derived maximum satisfaction from working on clients like Lifebuoy, Hutch (now Vodafone) and Domex. This was because they went beyond just regular brand communication which is what brands need today, if they want to reach the consumer in an effective manner. This is what BBDO believes in too, which gets me rather excited to be a part of this team, a team that’s growing rapidly and receiving huge accolades for the same. That apart, Ajai Jhala and Josy Paul have been two inspirational figures who I have always been keen to work with.”
