BBDO and Proximity Singapore focus their energy on giving back to local charities

BBDO Proximity.jpgGiving back has always been an important part of both BBDO and Proximity’s culture and values. Every year they commit time, energy and resources to various organizations, supporting them through pro-bono campaigns, re-branding and hands-on community service.

Previously, they have supported organizations like Habitat for Humanity, but this year, as they celebrated Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, they decided to shift the focus back to the community that matters most for both agencies, their home-town, Singapore.

Both agencies were activated and over 100 employees from BBDO and Proximity Singapore participated in multiple, hands-on community service days at three local charities, handpicked based on the impact they make on the lives they support.

They spent time with – Willing Hearts, an organization that provides daily meals and support services to the underprivileged and needy; MINDS, providing services for people with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and the Singapore SPCA, supporting the welfare of animals. For many employees, the experiences made such an impact they have taken up involvement outside of work, continuing to give back to the local community.

“In the hectic day-to-day of a creative agency, it’s easy to lose sense of perspective as to what’s truly important. Spending time with the MINDS team, as part of our agency-wide community service initiative, demonstrated to me what words like passion, commitment and hard work really mean. It was truly humbling and inspiring in equal measure to see what their volunteers do to help those in need every single day,” said Joe Braithwaite, General Manger, BBDO Singapore

Both BBDO and Proximity Singapore plan to continue their involvement with local organizations as the year continues and looks forward to doing their part in enriching the lives of the underprivileged in the place they call home.
