Japan walks away from One Show Awards with 41 Pencils including 10 Gold, 10 Silver + 21 Bronze
The One Club has announced the winners for the 42nd Annual One Show Awards celebrating the year’s best in all forms of advertising, design and marketing communications.
It was a very big year for Japan – totally dominating Asia’s performance with a total of 41 Pencils. The haul for Japanese agencies included an amazing 10 Golds, 10 Silvers and 21 bronze Pencils.
The Dentsu Network again lead the way with 15 Pencils overall including 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 9 Bronze.
Two of their Gold Pencils were awarded to East Japan Railway Company’s “Get Back, Tohoku” for Collateral Design and Posters Series (pictured). Their third Gold was won by Shachihata’s “Imagination changes the World” in the Package Design category.
Other Gold Pencil winners were ADK/Japan in Design – Experiences: Indoor Spaces for Citizen’s “Light is Time” and Hakuhodo + Hakuhodo Kettle in the same category for Suntory Holdings’ “Hibiki Glass”.
Hakuhodo Kettle + AID-DCC + Invisible Designs Lab + Fukuoka + Taiyokikakku also won a Gold Pencil in Intellectual Property – Software, Services, Programs & Platforms for The University of Tsukuba’s Special Needs Schools “Eye Play the Piano”.
Mori Kaibutsu + Birdman + Kirifuda Tokyo won Gold in Interactive – Websites: Travel, Entertainment & Leisure for OK Go + Honda iwontletyoudown.com.
Village picked up a Gold in Design – Collateral Design: Posters – Series for Toppan Printing Co. “Japanese Print Quality” as did Junya Kamada/Sapporo in Design – Brand Identity Series for “Super normal tofu” for the Imoo Tofu Store.
Mr Design Tokyo and New York won Gold for Design – Design Craft: Typography for the Tama Art University’s “Tamabi”.
