Making its debut in 2014, this Award recognises and honours business organisations in the Singapore private and public sectors for creative, sustainable and effective CSR programmes and projects. They should demonstrate the organisation’s ethical values, creative approach to differentiate their CSR initiatives, commitment to sustaining the programme, impact on the community, environmental and social purpose, and measuring and evaluating of results.

The 4 Category winners and 1 Grand Prix winner of the Singapore Creative CSR Awards 2015 were awarded at the DesignS Gala Dinner & Awards Night, which was held on 13 March 2015 at Marina Bay Sands, Peony Ballroom. The Guest of Honour that night was Grace Fu, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for the Environment and Water, and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.

That night saw Glaxo Wellcome Manufacturing Pte Ltd (see photo) winning the Grand Prix, Best of Show award. The Grand Prix goes to that entry that is judged to be the most creative, impactful and sustainable CSR programme, having scored the highest points amongst the various Best of Category winners. It was the winner of Category C – Environment.

Other outstanding winners included: Category A – Community Building: Maybank Singapore, Category B – Cause: Club 21 Pte Ltd, Category D – Social Enterprises: DBS Bank.

After round 1 judging was concluded, Mark Yong, Vice President of the Singapore Furniture Industries Council and Chairman for SingaPlural 2015, commented that, “CSR should be in a company’s strategy that is well structured and communicated to customers and stakeholders. It can be a strong marketing tool as well. Success can then be measured on how companies contribute back to the society.” This was his second time as a judge of the Singapore Creative CSR Awards.

Edwin Seah, Director of the Singapore Environment Council remarked after the second round of judging that, “The submissions were brilliant. I am most impressed that many of them have shown long term commitment and have gone beyond just awareness building to actions that have sustained impact.”

Chairman Ng Khee Jin, Managing Director and Creative Director of Wild, gave a speech at the Awards Night with an impactful message to all, “Truly, it is the thought that counts. Size does not matter. Singapore Creative CSR Awards recognizes the application of our creativity and innovation to make an impact. So do not despise small beginnings but let them be the catalyst for more meaningful engagement with the Community in the future.”

Partners for the Singapore Creative CSR Awards 2015 included British Chamber of Commerce, PUB, Singapore Compact for CSR, Singapore Environment Council and Singapore Kindness Movement.

The Singapore Creative CSR Awards is an annual installment in SingaPlural, an event, organized alongside 8 other network partners of Design. This week-long design celebration is an international platform for talents across the creative industries to engage and evoke the design senses of visitors; through installations, exclusively curated design spaces, symposiums, competitions and many other activities.
