Droga 5 New York named One Show Agency of the Year: Network of the Year goes to BBDO and Omnicom secures Holding Company of the Year
The One Club announced today the winners for the 42nd Annual One Show Awards, the most prestigious worldwide competition celebrating the year’s best in all forms of advertising, design and marketing communications. Gold Pencils, Best of Discipline, Best of Show and other special awards were announced today at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City.
Japan leads Asia’s performance with 41 Pencils this year. India also performed strongly with 18 Pencils closely followed by China with 17 Pencils.
These were the highlights:
Funny Or Die won Best of Show with “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifanakis: President Barack Obama” for Healthcare.gov.
Omnicom secured Holding Company of the Year while two other special awards fell under the Omnicom umbrella: BBDO for Network of the Year and Mars for Client of the Year.
Droga5 took home Agency of the Year, largely on the strength of its “Gisele Bündchen – Will Beats Noise” campaign for Under Armour (pictured above),
Marcel/Paris rounded out the special awards by winning the Green Pencil – an award that recognizes the best environmentally conscious advertising of the year – with its “Inglorious Fruits and Vegetables” campaign for Intermarché.
Several special awards, including Agency of the Year, Network of the Year and Holding Company of the Year, were determined by The One Show ranking system. See the complete rankings here.
In addition to special awards, Best of Discipline was awarded for all 13 disciplines in this year’s One Show.

Best of Direct: Ogilvy Brasil/Sao Paulo with “Tattoo Skin Cancer Check” for Sol de Janeiro
Best of Film: SS+K/New York with “Awkward Family Viewing” for HBO Go
Best of Mobile: Wunderman/London with “Flash Photo Posters” for Childhood Eye Cancer Trust
Best of Print & Outdoor: Leo Burnett/Sydney with “Poachers” for WWF (left).
Best of Radio: Ogilvy & Mather Argentina/Buenos Aires with “Rising Voices” for Colegio Las Lomas Oral
Best of Responsive Environments: Local Projects/New York for Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum
Best of UX/UI: Grey Germany/Dusseldorf with “The Berlin Wall of Sound” for SoundCloud
Silver and Bronze Pencil winners were honored at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City on May 7-8th. The One Show received more than 20,000 entries from 1,300 agencies in 65 countries.

Singapore came first with the highest paid CCOs who once again did nothing.
I believe the best performing Singapore agency here has no expat CCO or expat creatives.
Makes you wonder whether the highly paid CCOs are worth their money or arrogance?
