Hadfield (pictured left) joins from iris’ London HQ where as Planning Director he has spent the last 12 months leading planning and strategic output on clients including Shell, working to launch the UK’s first mobile payment technology for fuel, and Philips, leading digital projects for hue, its connected lighting product.

His move will build on the global growth and success of key iris clients across the network, and is the latest in a string of investments iris has been making in expanding its creative innovation proposition in APAC.

Craig Mapleston, Managing Director, Singapore said of the appointment, “At iris we see a huge benefit in encouraging people to move around our network – to expand their own career as well as creating and sharing global learning’s and best practice, which in turn has a positive impact on our clients’ businesses.

“More and more we are seeing our clients in Singapore reap the rewards from our ability to blend the ‘left and right brain’ – the best in strategy, innovation and creativity. Mark’s experience working with and building Participation Brands across a wide range of sectors and channels, both globally and locally, will make him a fantastic addition to our strategic team.”

In Singapore, Hadfield will report directly into Craig Mapleston and Luke Nathans – CEO APAC, and will be responsible for the quality and profile of the strategic output for clients across Asia including Diageo, Shell and Philips. He will also contribute to driving commercial performance and providing leadership for the planning team in Singapore.

Hadfield added, “With an enviable client list and a expert team already in place in Singapore to work with, it’s clear that iris’ strategic proposition is going from strength to strength. Coupled with the excellent creative product iris has always delivered – we are becoming a real force to be reckoned with!  I’m looking forward to harnessing the power of Participation for brands in Singapore, and helping to create extraordinary creative and strategic opportunities to benefit our clients.”

Prior to iris, Hadfield held the position of Planning Director at Weapon 7 (AMV/BBDO), as well as holding senior planning positions at Southpaw (part of Hakuhodo network) and The Engine Group.

This follows the recent announcement from iris that it would be ‘super-charging’ iris Concise, its consulting, CRM and data strategy arm, with two senior additions to the team in Singapore – Directors Will Hanschell and Sorcha John.
