KDDI Corporation and Hakuhodo Tokyo create futuristic restaurant to connect couples who can’t be together in the same city on Christmas Eve
This year, KDDI Corporation will open a special restaurant for one day only on Christmas Eve for people who are unable to get together on Christmas Eve – for example, couples that are separated by distance or those who are on business assignments away from their families.
Plans to create an experience of a futuristic restaurant service took shape from the company’s idea to use communication technology to bring people’s hearts closer together.
Two couples have been selected in a draw, and they will enjoy a special dinner experience on the day that the restaurant is opened. They live in Tokyo and Osaka and will be brought close to their beloved through huge screen displays that will be set up in hotel rooms in the respective cities so they can feel as if they are together in the same location.
In addition, a web movie that presents the conceptual world of the “Sync Dinner” has been released on a special site. Hakuhodo Tokyo is the agency behind the campaign.
