TSS_ASIA_SHIELD_MOD02_01JUL.jpegThe Sweet Shop will continue its global growth with the announcement of a creative partnership with Mumbai-based production company, Asylum Films. The deal will see Asylum Films with exclusive access to The Sweet Shop’s roster of award-wining directorial talent in India, while additionally facilitating representation by The Sweet Shop of Asylum’s director and founder, Razneesh Ghai.

With offices in London, Los Angeles, Auckland, Melbourne and Bangkok, this partnered venture will further expand The Sweet Shop’s scope in the region, allowing the production company to deliver the same level of executive leadership and seamless client service it is known for around the world.

Says Claire Davidson, executive producer for The Sweet Shop Asia and Mena: “It not only works well to have someone on the ground as a local point of contact and knowledge to build the required security for each project, but also allows our directors to focus purely on making the best work possible.”

Says Daniel Ho, senior producer: “Clients and agencies can be assured with the partnership’s communication and commitment. Having a local partner giving you insight into the culture and nuances can be the difference between a good spot and a great one.”

The Sweet Shop’s partnership with Asylum Films acknowledges the shared commitment of both companies to high craft filmmaking and premium story telling, while making these shared values easily accessible to the market in India.

Says Ghai: “I think every collaboration helps you grow and the filmmaking future is all about collaborations. We are very proud to represent The Sweet Shop’s roster in India and I think this partnership will lead to some fabulous co-productions in the future. I am personally also very excited to be a part of the director’s roster at The Sweet Shop.”

The Sweet Shop’s roster of directors is available under its own label within the Asylum Films stable, with Bhavna Singh, executive producer, as its dedicated producer for both production and talent management.
